The roll tube on a side roll tarp system is the main horizontal shaft that the tarp is attach to and wraps around as you open or close the tarp. A poorly installed roll tube will result in uneven rolling and premature wear and tear on the tarp. Trailers and containers are often quite long, and require an equally long roll tube. Shipping roll tubes is often a logistical pain point, due to the high freight cost for the long tubes. Roll tubes can be shipped in shorter segments, but that requires additional welding, which introduces the risk of failure or uneven assembly. However, if done correctly, you can save a lot on shipping. These 10' segments will ship via freight carrier, so a higher quantity is recommended, otherwise you can purchase the 95" version>/a>, optimized for standard ground parcel shipping.

This 2" roll tube comes as a 10' (120") segment, which can be connected with 2" coupling connecter and cut to fit desired length. It is a straight tube, with no swedged ends or splines.
