Our Flatbed Tarp Spreader Forklift Attachment is LITERALLY a life saver. Falls are a leading cause of injury among long-haul truck drivers (source). One false step can result in tragedy. This tarp spreader removes the need for drivers to get on top of the load, which saves time and significantly reduces the risk of an accident.
The tarp loader attachment conveniently slips onto the forklift forks and is secured to the carriage with the included safety chain. The flatbed tarp attaches to the tarp spreader by hooking the grommets onto pins on the boom arm. The forklift operator then lifts the tarp and gently drives parallel to the flatbed load, dragging the tarp slowly across the load. Additional helpers are recommended to monitor and prevent the tarp from getting caught on the load. Once the tarp is in the desired position, the operator lowers the boom arm, allowing the grommets slip off of the posts. The tarp will need to be checked and adjusted before final securing.
Measure your forks: The standard fork pocket has an inside width of 5-1/2", and the wide pocket version has an inside width of 7-1/2". Both pocket styles have an inside height of 2-1/2".
The tarp spreader can be used on the driver side or passenger side of the trailer, depending on which side the forks are inserted into the attachment.
The telescoping boom arm extends out to 181" and has threaded holes for screwing studs into place to hook the tarp grommets over to hold the tarp in place while spreading. A safety chain with a hook secures the attachment to the forklift carriage while in operation.

The tarp spreader attachments are built to order. Under normal circumstances, please allow two to four weeks for production.
